Saturday morning dawned annoyingly early. We had to get up at 7:30 in order to get up and dressed for the parade. Cath was smart – she got up, got dressed and got herself out of there before we even got started! I was going to wear Boushh for the 501st picture, and then walk with the helmet off with the Rebel Legion, since Chase was wearing part of his Han costume as Han just-out-of-the-carbonite.
We got dressed with no problems, amazingly. The only thing is we forgot the camera! We didn’t realise until we were all the way outside walking to the parade staging area. Oh well.
The brave members of the MidSouth Garrison who got up early enough to be there. Photo from Justin Manning.
So we marched. It was fun. We were almost to the end when Chase said, hey, there’s Cath!
Turns out, she didn’t have to work that morning. She smartly came back to the room and saw our camera sitting there, grabbed it and came down and took a few pics for us. Awesome!!
The best pic Cath managed to get of Chase and me LOL and one from Glenn Stein.
We got to the end of the parade to find they were out of the lemonade or whatever it was we were supposed to get at the end š Chase went to change out of Han (the boots hurt his feet), and then came back down and we took Boushh pics in front of the fountain.
That whole costume was nothing but a sweat-box, I swear
Then it was time to go change. I got into Wonder Woman for the Marvel vs DC photoshoot. First, though, another trip to the dealer’s room, and lunch. And also – Melissa and Ash were finally up and in the land of the living – they had gotten their badges.
With old-school Wonder Woman š
Wonder Women! These are some of my fav pics from the con š
Then, I had to go change VERY quickly, to be at the Slave Leia shoot in time! On our way over we finally got to see Starla in her Amidala. It is amazing, she really did incredible work on it!
And then off to the Slave Leia shoot. No fire marshal or security yelling at us this year — photographers were moved into the area five at a time. It took a while but it was much saner than last year.
Once that was over, we went and took a break in the room for a while, had a snack, etc. 5-7 we sat at The Dented Helmet table. After our stint at the table, we went back upstairs and took a few pics of it, so I could have a few with my new boots and skirts.
The new skirts… I thought I’d have more trouble keeping them down when walking than I did with my old ones. Not so! They hang beautifully and don’t fly out when you’re walking. Love it!
Chase & I consider Saturday at Dragoncon to be our anniversary, so we all went to eat at Sear there in the Marriott. (Me in normal clothes, even!) The food was ok, the service was HORRIBLE. It took us forever to get ANYTHING, our food took forever, our dessert took forever… so frustrating!
And then I went and put Wonder Woman back on, because it was much more fun to wear than Slave Leia, and Chase put his TMNT on. And the girls had fun with their Spartan masks.
Then we went to the Shindig, hung around there for a while, wandered around, and finally called it a night.
HERE are all of my pics from Friday & Saturday. I’ll be uploading and posting Sunday’s tomorrow, hopefully! š
